GOLDEN SALUTE 2015 bay filly Acclamation / Golden Shadow. To be trained by Andrew Balding.

Golden SaluteThis stunning daughter of the highly successful sire Acclamation is a half-sister to the Listed-placed 2yo Lordoftheshadows and a full-sister to the exciting 3yo of this year Victory Angel who won his maiden as a 2yo impressively. She realised €88,000 as a foal and is bred on the same Acclamation/Selkirk cross as both Absolutely So and Make Music whom Andrew Balding also trained.

Andrew trains at the historic Park House Stables in Kingsclere where syndicate members are always made to feel so welcome, not least by his lovely wife Anna-Lisa. Anna-Lisa’s chocolate brownies and cocktail sausages are worth the visit on their own!

DEVIATE 2015 bay lly Acclamation / Divert. To be trained by Tom Dascombe

DeviateThis lly is by the highly successful sire Acclamation who is responsible for the likes of Dark Angel, Marsha and Harbour Watch amongst others. She is a full-sister to two 2yo-winning horses including the very fast and Listed-placed 2yo Reroute, who was a leading fancy for Royal Ascot herself having won a maiden on debut for Ed Walker a few years ago. She looks to be a very sharp lly who should be capable of debuting pre-Royal Ascot all being well.

She is being trained by Tom Dascombe at Michael Owen’s Manor House Stables near Malpas in Cheshire. A modern yard, the facilities are some of the best around and Tom has tasted huge success there not least through the legendary stayer Brown Panther as well as the many sharp 2yo’s he is so adept with.

EXRATING 2015 bay filly Exceed And Excel / Our Little Secret. To be trained by Ed Walker.

Roseau CityThe filly is by the outstanding sire Exceed And Excel, an Austalian-bred son of Danehill who has had great success at stud in both hemispheres including the likes of young stallions Excelebration and Helmet. She is out of the Listed winner Our Little Secret which makes her a half-sister to the Group 2-winning sprinter Pearl Secret as well as to Secret Romance who scored for Hot To Trot on her debut a few years ago. She was bought-in at 100,000 guineas as a yearling last autumn and is a very exciting member of the team.

This is our first horse with Ed Walker at the spectacular Kingsdown Stables in Lambourn, recently refurbished by its owner Bjorn Nielson. Ed is one of the most up and coming trainers in the country and has recently made the move from Newmarket to Lambourn with his wife Camilla where they will have over 100 horses in their care.

HEARTACHE 2015 bay filly Kyllachy / Place In My Heart. To be trained by Clive Cox.

Golden SaluteThis filly is a daughter of the Champion Sprinter Kyllachy who has sired the likes of Group 1 winners Sole Power, Dragon Pulse and Twilight Son in a successful career at stud. He is also the sire of Kendal Mint, who looked so exciting for Hot To Trot a few years back before a freak minor injury ended her career on the track prematurely. She is the first foal of the Listed-winning and Group 3 placed sprinter Place In My Heart who Clive also trained and is a lovely filly who seems to take after her dam in many ways according to the Cox yard.

Clive trains at John Francome’s Sheepdrove Stables in Lambourn. With some of the best private gallops at his disposal, he has had a phenomenal last few years including the likes of 2016 Royal Ascot Group 1 winners My Dream Boat and Profitable and of course the Champion Sprinter Lethal Force.

TESORINA 2015 bay filly Lilbourne Lad / Insieme. To be trained by William Knight.

Golden SaluteThis filly is a daughter of the Group 2 winning 2yo Lilbourne Lad of whom William Knight has trained one of his leading sons, Southdown Lad. She is also a half-sister to his high-class 3yo of 2016 Goodwood Zodiac who climbed the ranks into Group company before being sold at the end of 2016. We bought this filly 50/50 with William and he has been raving about her ever since so our fingers are all crossed she will prove good value!

William trains on the stunning Angmering Park Estate overlooking Arundel where he has tasted plenty of success from a relatively small string including at Group 2 level courtesy of the Goodwood Cup winner Illustrious Blue.

HEPTATHLETE 2015 grey filly Mount Nelson / Jessica Ennis. To be trained by George Baker.

Golden SaluteThis filly is a daughter of the Group 1 winning Mount Nelson, a consistent sire of smart performers who many 2016 Hot To Trot Members will have seen at Newsells Park Stud in 2016. She is a daughter of the much vaunted Jessica Ennis who was very highly regarded at home for her Highclere Syndicate (whom Jessica Ennis was an honorary member of) before suffering an injury in Newmarket that prevented her from Racing. At stud, she is the dam of two 2yo winners from two runners to date and we hope this filly will be a third this summer.

She is our first horse with the affable George Baker who is based on the Manton Estate just outside Marlborough, one of most famous training establishments in the world. George is a very successful trainer in his own right with the likes of Belgian Bill and Boomshakalaka regularly flying his flag all around the world.
